The cactus flowers or “desert roses” are cast from bronze and patinaed with Michael’s unique signature green shade. The handmade necklace has a chain made up of pink jasper, rhodonite and pink rhodochrosite beads. This necklace is great for anyone who loves nature, the west, deserts, or unique handcrafted art jewelry. The necklace measures approximately 17.5” long and features an extender that allows it to expand to 18.5”. The extender allows the necklace to work with many different necklines. This necklace was created in the USA by talented jewelry artist Michael Michaud as part of his Silver Seasons collection. This necklace comes with a glossy black gift box with our store label that is great for giving and storage for years to come. This necklace also comes with an information card that states the following: Desert Rose Echeveria The geus Echeveria is named after the Spanish botanist, Atanasio Echeveria Codoy. The plant is a succulent that forms attractive clumps under 6” tall of small, tight rosettes. The broad fleshy leaves have waxy, velvety, or powdery surfaces and are often iridescent in bright sunlight. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife and children. Michael studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, graduating in 1980. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district, Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today's collection is a combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. He has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these "copies of nature" into beautiful jewelry.
