This hand carved Baltic amber has incredible detail! The piece features a woman holding grapes. The details are so fine in this piece that you can see the petals of the flowers that the woman wears in her hair and on her dress. This amber jewelry piece has a pin on the back and can be worn as a brooch or pendant. When wearing this piece as a pin, the hinged pendant bail (loop for chain) folds down behind the piece.

This piece measures are large measuring approximately 1.5” long (including the earwire) by 1.4” wide. Please note that the dime is not included but shown to help you gauge the size of the pendant.

Amber appears in many colors including brown, yellow, milky white, red, green, black, and even blue. 40-60 million years ago the Baltic Sea was a huge forest of now extinct coniferous pine trees. It is the hardened resin or sap from these trees that has become the amber of today. Each piece of amber is unique because of entrapped flora, fauna, and even insects. To clean jewelry use a polishing cloth or warm soapy water. No active solutions.
