About Us

We are an independently owned and operated retail jewelry and gift store located in downtown Iowa City's Old Capitol Town Center. This building is sometimes also called Old Capitol Mall or the University Capitol Center. Selected pieces from our collection of handcrafted artisan jewelry are also offered online and can be shipped worldwide. Our goal is to bring our valued customers a wide selection of handmade artisan jewelry. We are proud to feature jewelry from around the world including Murano glass from Murano in Venice, Italy. We also feature jewelry from Poland, Mexico, Bali, the United States, and other countries. We feature jewelry using traditional materials such as semiprecious stones, silver, vermeil, and gold fill. We also showcase jewelry made from unique mediums such as Italian Murano Glass, Dichroic Glass, Seaglass, wood, anodized metal, shells, and bronze. Favorite jewelry designers carried at Glassando include Jody Coyote, Charles Albert, Michael Michaud, and many more! Blown glass ornaments are also added around the Christmas holidays.

We delight in helping our customers find the perfect piece of handcrafted artisan jewelry for gifts, trips, weddings, prom, formals, and everyday.
