Michael Michaud’s eucalyptus leaf earrings capture the beauty of nature. The leaf itself is made from bronze but appears green because of Michael’s unique patina the top post of the earrings has a white fresh water pearl. Michael’s eucalyptus collection is great for any one that loves nature, leafs, hiking, koalas, Australia, or beautiful hand crafted artisan jewelry. Each earring measures approximately .5” wide by 1.75” long. The post of the earring and back are made form sterling silver. These earrings where created in the USA by talented jewelry artist Michael Michaud as part of his Silver Seasons collection. Eucalyptus

Native to Australia the tall eucalyptus tree is not only known for its beauty but for its aromatic leaves that yield medicinal oil. The eucalyptus tree is the only source of food for koala bears. Among its many visual attractions is its exfoliating outer bark which peels aways in long strips to reveal a pale blue-gray trunk that gives the tree its common name of blue gum. Hand patinaed bronze or sterling silver or 14kt gold. Made in the USA.

Artist Michael Michaud was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife and children. Michael studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, graduating in 1980. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district, Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today's collection is a combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. He has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these "copies of nature" into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones and pearls, Michael's designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
