The necklace also comes with an information card that states the following:

Carrots

The carrot is one of the most important vegetables in the western world. The name Carota, for the garden carrot, is found first in writings of Athenaeus (A.D. 200), and in the book on cookery by Apicius Czclius. Carrots are as important a food to modern man as they were to our early ancestors. Because they are nutrient dense, portable, delicious, and versatile, they meet the needs of today’s lifestyles and fit into today’s dietary guidelines.

Hand patinaed bronze with hand formed glass beads. Hand made in the USA.
