Michael Michaud’s earrings are based on a boxwood evergreen plant. These earrings have an old fashioned romantic look to them. The combination of cultured fresh water pearls and Michael’s unique green leafs is very striking. The leafs are cast from bronze and then hand patinaed with Michael’s realistic and beautiful green tone. The earrings feature a sterling silver hook style earwire that slips easily into the ear. The earrings measure approximately 1.5” long by .4” across. These earrings where created in the USA by talented jewelry artist Michael Michaud as part of his Silver Seasons jewelry collection. The earrings come with a gift box that is great for giving and storage for years to come. The necklace makes a great gift for nature lovers, plant enthusiasts, gardeners, and lovers of unique handcrafted jewelry. These earrings come with an information card that states the following:

Boxwood

Boxwood is an attractive evergreen that can reach heights of thirty or more feet. The slow growing dwarf variety is close clipped (a custom that began in Roman times) to make decorative edgings. Our orginal model was made from cuttings taken at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. A portion of the sales of this design goes to the support of George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

Artist Michael Michaud was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife and children. Michael studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, graduating in 1980. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district, Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today's collection is a combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. He has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these "copies of nature" into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones and pearls, Michael's designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
