Michael Michaud’s necklace is based on a boxwood evergreen plant. The necklace has an old fashioned romantic look to it. The combination of cultured fresh water pearls and Michael’s unique green leafs is very striking. The leafs are cast from bronze and then hand patinaed with Michael’s realistic and beautiful green tone. As you can see in the picture the chain is made up of pearls. The necklace measures approximately 16” and features an extender that allows the chain to expand to 17.5”. The extender allows the necklace to work with many different types of necklines. The necklace was created in the USA by talented jewelry artist Michael Michaud as part of his Silver Seasons jewelry collection. The necklace comes with a gift box that is great for giving and storage for years to come. The necklace makes a great gift for nature lovers, plant enthusiasts, gardeners, and lovers of unique handcrafted jewelry. This necklace also comes with an information card that states the following:
Boxwood
Boxwood is an attractive evergreen that can reach heights of thirty or more feet. The slow growing dwarf variety is close clipped (a custom that began in Roman times) to make decorative edgings. Our orginal model was made from cuttings taken at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. A portion of the sales of this design goes to the support of George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

Artist Michael Michaud was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife and children. Michael studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, graduating in 1980. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district, Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today's collection is a combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. He has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these "copies of nature" into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones and pearls, Michael's designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
